About Me

All his life, Andrew has been extremely active and excited to get outside and explore. He started his life doing competitive gymnastics, transitioning to rugby during high school and then onto skiing. Over the years, Andrew managed to collect his fair share of injuries, which now help him understand what his patients are going through. From broken bones, torn ligaments, muscle strains, surgeries, concussions, Andrew has experienced them all multiple times.

Originally from a small village in Scotland, Andrew started exploring the globe fresh out of high school. He started by travelling to Ohakune, New Zealand where he earned his NZSIA level 2 ski instructor certification and discovered his passion for skiing. This led him to a career as a ski instructor, chasing the snow between Northern and Southern hemispheres.

After spending 4 years travelling between New Zealand and Canada, Andrew tore his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) and damaged the meniscus in his left knee. Unfortunately this required surgery and Andrew returned back to Scotland to rehabilitate and recover from his injury.

9 months after surgery Andrew was back on his skis. After a quick trip to Chamoix he packed his bags and headed back to New Zealand, for a season skiing all the small club fields in the South Island. He returned to Whistler in Canada, starting the process of gaining Canadian Residency. During this time, Andrew worked in the only  5 star hotel in Whistler, while still teaching skiing at weekends.

Once Andew had completed his residency, he decided it was time to change career path and this led him into Massage Therapy. Andrew studied at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. During his time at school, Andrew achieved recognition on the Dean’s List as well as giving his classes graduation speech.

He then returned to Whistler to start his career in health care. His previous knowledge of body mechanics and dynamic assessments have proved invaluable when treating patients injuries as an RMT. His background as an athlete gives him insight into injury rehabilitation as well as prevention and exercises that can help achieve both goals.

When Andrew is not at work, his passion for being outside takes precedence. In the winter, you can find him backcountry skiing and/or snowmobiling. In the summer, he likes to spend his time mountain biking, rock climbing, camping, hiking and whatever “good ideas” his friends come up with.
